FOCIS 2008 offers you an intensive 5-day schedule of presentations of the latest research in all fields of immunology, educational programs, and the networking opportunities that have become a FOCIS hallmark.

The Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) comprises 36 autonomous Member Societies, which in turn represent over 40,000 researchers, clinicians, educators and trainees, each with their own specialty in the broad discipline of immunology. The FOCIS Annual Meetings, now in their 8th year, continue to provide the unique forum for this diverse group to collaborate and share research results.

FOCIS 2008 programs include plenary sessions, thematic symposia, oral abstract sessions, and poster presentations featuring the latest developments in Immunogenetics/Genomics, Immunoregulation, Immunotherapy, Host Defense, and Immunodiagnosis.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of FOCIS 2008, delegates will be able to:

  • Describe the current research and/or clinical topics relevant to the session topics.
  • Explain the methods being used by researchers and practitioners.
  • Apply session topic principles to research and/or clinical projects.

Needs Assessment:

The content of FOCIS 2008 was determined by rigorous assessment of educational need through surveys, program feedback and expert faculty assessment.

Target Audience:

The target audience for FOCIS 2008 is a multi-disciplinary group interested in clinical immunology: researchers, clinical investigators, clinicians, postdoctoral fellows, predoctoral students and graduate students.

Designation Statement:

This activity was planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint sponsorship of the A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Education of Baylor Health Care System, Dallas, and the Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies. The A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Medical Education of Baylor Health Care System, Dallas, is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
