The FOCIS 2022 Scientific Program Committee welcomes submissions of original contributions for oral and poster presentation during FOCIS 2022.
Abstract Title: The first letter of all major words should be capitalized (excludes: the, at, and, etc.), with no punctuation at the end. No word count limit.
Presentation Type: Select preference for oral, poster or either.
Author Information: The presenting author must submit the abstract and will receive confirmation and acceptance notice. Co-authors may be added. Each co-author requires first name, last name, email address, institution name, city, state, and country. Co-authors must be ordered as they should appear in the program.
Subject Areas: Select areas such as abstract topic, basis of research, and FOCIS pillar.
Abstract Text: Limited to 250-word count. Graphic elements, such as charts, pictures, etc. may not be included in abstract submission.
Disclosure Form: Presenting author must complete a disclosure form. Form requires acceptance of presentation statement, disclosure of financial relationships, and resolution of conflicts of interest, in accordance with FOCIS policy.
Published Content: Abstracts that have been or will be published prior to the time of presentation at the Annual Meeting may not be submitted. Exception: If additional data/research is added to a previously published abstract, the abstract may be submitted.
Submission Fee: There is a $30 non-refundable submission fee per abstract. This fee is waived for presenting authors who are FOCIS members.
View Past Abstracts
Before beginning an abstract, consider viewing abstracts that others have written. Abstracts submitted to FOCIS are published in our Abstract Supplement, which is published on our website in late May or early June.
Abstract FAQ
Selection and Presentation
Each abstract is blinded and peer-reviewed by three members of the Abstract Review Committee.
Accepted abstracts will be selected as either a short oral presentation, poster presentation, or rejected. Oral presentations are placed into the FOCIS 2022 program on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday afternoon. Oral presentations are allotted a maximum of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for presentation and an additional 5 minutes allotted for questions and discussion.
Notification
If the abstract is accepted by the reviewers, the presenting author will receive an abstract acceptance notification. Notifications of acceptance or rejection will be sent the week of March 14, 2022 to the presenting author. Late-breaking notifications of acceptance will be sent the week of May 23, 2022 to the presenting author.
Registration Policy
Presenting authors of accepted abstracts must register for the FOCIS Annual Meeting by April 8, 2022.
Upon payment of the FOCIS Annual Meeting registration fee, the abstract will be confirmed and scheduled into the program.
Abstracts accepted for presentation but not registered by the deadline will be withdrawn and will not be included in the scientific program or abstract supplement.
Abstract Publishing
Accepted abstracts are published in our Abstract Supplement, which is a PDF file available on the FOCIS website. This is published in early June and is available to the public.
