FOCIS Research & Education Virtual Symposia: Request for Submissions

Virtually share your research with the FOCIS community and our industry partners

FOCIS is currently accepting submissions to organize a symposium. Organizing a research education symposium is a great way to share innovative and high-impact approaches for advancing human health through immunology. Individual FCEs, groups of FCEs, FOCIS member societies, other FOCIS committees, or industry partners may submit a proposal for a symposium.
There is no cost to apply and the next application deadline is Friday, March 1, 2024. Please apply to share your knowledge and research on translational immunology.

The selected symposiums will focus on areas of expertise, technologies, or themes connected to immunology. It is anticipated that a faculty member and a trainee will co-chair the symposium. A trainee is a graduate student, postdoc, or instructor. The symposium might start with a brief theme introduction, followed by 3-5 presenters, and last approximately two hours. A Zoom webinar will be used to host the symposium.

Submissions will be reviewed and chosen by the selection committee. Representatives from the initiative’s lead committees (FCE, Education, and Membership) constitute the organizing committee. Early in 2024, proposal submitters will be notified of the proposal’s acceptance. FOCIS leaders intend to have two virtual symposia by December 2024.

About

The FCE, Membership, and Education Committees oversee this educational collaboration initiative. Please note that this call for proposals does not relate to the FOCIS Annual Meeting call for sessions.

In the spring of 2024, FOCIS plans to announce the confirmed virtual education symposia for 2024. The virtual symposium will be recorded and made available to FOCIS members for on-demand viewing.
